REX is proud to offer in house plating options for all of our Stainless Steel razors in our line up. Rhodium and gold are durable protective finishes commonly used on double edge razors, but leaving a blade inside a razor after it has been exposed to water can lead to corrosion throughout. While these finishes are highly resistant to rust and tarnishing, the double edge blade itself is typically made from alloy steel and may begin to rust when moisture remains trapped between the blade and razor. Over time, this corrosion can cause staining or discoloration and may affect the razor’s finish, particularly in areas where water and moisture are unable to fully dry. To help preserve the appearance and longevity of your razor, we recommend removing the blade after use, rinsing the razor thoroughly, and allowing all components to dry completely. Proper cleaning, drying, and blade removal will help maintain the beauty and condition of the rhodium and gold finished razors for years to come. If rust does seem to form it will be surface level, it can be easily treated with a soft bristle tooth brush and some dish detergent. Damage caused by leaving a wet or rusted blade in the razor is not considered a manufacturing defect and is not covered under warranty.
